Veneers
A veneer is a very thin, tooth-coloured shell fitted to the front surface of a tooth to conceal discolouration, an oddly shaped tooth or small gaps. They offer a minimally invasive way to enhance your smile as only a little preparation is required prior to fitting.
How we fit a veneer
If necessary, we remove a thin layer of enamel so the veneer will fit neatly in place. Once the tooth has been carefully prepared, we take impressions so your veneer can be custom-made. It will also be colour-matched to blend in with your existing teeth. When ready, we bond your new veneer to the tooth with a strong dental adhesive.
Good to know
As veneers provide a cosmetic enhancement to unsightly teeth, they are available privately, but if there is a clinical need, we can offer them on the NHS.
Keep your veneer in great condition by developing an effective oral hygiene routine and make sure you see us regularly so we can check the health of the underlying tooth.
Although designed to be durable restorations, veneers can be damaged, just like natural teeth, so treat them with a little care and try not to bite down on hard foods or open anything with your teeth.
